The CoScan Trust Fund administers a programme of travel grants.Though each small, they complement those sponsored by governments and other institutions and for each individual who benefits they make the crucial difference.
The Travel Award Scheme offers valuable assistance to young people travelling to the Nordic countries for study or adventure. The subjects they cover are extraordinarily diverse, and reports and photos from Travel award recipients are valuable features of the CoScan Magazine and this website.

The travel awards scheme was initiated in 1985, the 'International year of Youth', and its aim is to help young British people to visit a Scandinavian country. It is open to anyone between the ages of 15 and 25 who is planning to undertake a worthwhile project of a broadly educational nature. Applicants do not have to be members of an affiliated society, though a recommendation from one may carry some weight. The travel award fund is modest as it consists of donations from Anglo-Scandinavian societies in Britain, collected through various events, and from a few individuals who make regular or sporadic contributions.
Unfortunately the funds do not allow us to help large scale projects. The awards are generally in the region of £75-150.
Successful applicants in the past have included young people looking for vocational experience or attending summer camps/courses, university students, young farmers, members of youth orchestras, scouts and guides.
